As we wrap up 2023, the Swedish Life Cycle Center reflects on a year marked by significant developments and success. We welcomed new partners—Luleå University of Technology and Asker Healthcare, while expanding our SME collaboration with ZeBeyond and Nilu.
This year witnessed a leadership transition, bidding farewell to Sara Palander after twelve years as Director. We welcomed Maria Rydberg as the new Director and Susan Iliefski-Janols as the Chairwoman of the board. In October, Yulia Liu joined as Project Manager, enriching our Technical Secretariat team with her LCA expertise.
Key projects, including the Environmental Footprint project, the Biodiversity in LCA working group, and the Two-day course in applied life cycle thinking, delivered valuable outcomes aligned with our mission. Life Cycle Talks became a well-known platform for disseminating research and fostering collaboration.
In March, we excitedly announced our role as hosts for the 26th SETAC Europe LCA Symposium, a milestone to anticipate in 2024! New working groups and projects are also on the horizon, offering fresh opportunities for exploration and collaboration.
