LCA courses for all!
Together with Swedish Life Cycle Center’s academic partners, Chalmers University of Technology, KTH Royal institute of Technology and Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences a PhD course “Advances in life cycle assessment” will be held during the spring. For master students interested in LCA you can find a list of courses given at Swedish Life Cycle Center partner universities through the Swedish Life Cycle Center webpage. The list includes courses within LCA and related methods.
PhD course in LCA
The PhD course “Advances in life cycle assessment” is developed in collaboration between the research school Sustainable Biomass Systems at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and the partner universities within the Swedish Life Cycle Center. There has been a high interest in the course, and just a few days after registration opened it was fully booked.
The course will give an in-depth orientation of LCA and it includes a broad range of LCA-related topics: the methodology, its application, its relation to other assessment tools, its role in decision-processes. Students will be given a broad view of life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology and application, including knowledge on state-of-the-art research in selected areas. Dissemination of the expertise and experiences of senior LCA researchers to a new generation of PhD students, and help the PhD students create an informal network of young LCA researchers are also an important part of the course. The course will be given online between 19 April to 21 May 2021.
Master courses in LCA
A list of courses that are given at the Swedish Life Cycle Center’s partner universities was compiled with help from the Academic working group at the center. The working group that are called Academy group consist of the university representatives from the Swedish Life Cycle Center Board as well as other employees from the partner universities. The aim of the group is to gather researchers from the center´s university partners to discuss issues related to education and interests in life cycle assessment from an academic point of view. The group is also a platform for cooperation between the center´s partner universities.
10 different LCA courses is given by the partner universities (Chalmers, SLU and KTH) and in the list below you can find a summary of these courses with a course code that makes it easier for you to find more information at each university´s webpage. Please note that some of the courses are only possible to apply to if you are part of a program at the respective school where the course is given.
