Life Cycle Talks: Can chemical footprints provide decision support to reduce chemical risks?
Place: Online on Zoom
Price: Free of charge
For whom: Public
Welcome to Life Cycle Talks! A series of talks presenting the research front to keep you up to date with the science and application of the life cycle perspective. Our next guest is Hanna Holmquist, toxicologist at ChemSec, Hanna will talk about how chemical footprints can generate important insights about life cycle ecotoxicity and human toxicity potential impacts.
Presenter
Hanna Holmquist is a toxicologist at ChemSec, an NGO driving the change to safer chemicals. Hanna holds a PhD in Environmental Systems Analysis from Chalmers and has many years of experience from chemical risk assessment and life cycle assessment (LCA), and not the least, the various combination of the two. Her research has focused on adding relevance to chemical substitution assessment by including life cycle thinking also in the ecotoxicity and human toxicity assessment. Application areas have often included textile and the substitution of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). In recent years the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) concept has provided a relevant framework for case studies and further methods development.
