Yulia Liu new Project Manager at the Center
Yulia will manage and coordinate projects and activities within Swedish Life Cycle Center. With her background in working with LCA, she is a welcomed addition to the Technical Secretariat team.
What is your background?
My educational background includes a Master’s degree in Environmental Measurement and Assessment from Chalmers University of Technology and a Licentiate degree in Industrial Informatics from the University of Skövde, with a focus on using simulation-based life cycle assessment to enhance the environmental sustainability of manufacturing systems. I have several years industrial experience working at Volvo Group and Volvo Cars, where I’ve supported these organizations in assessing and improving the environmental impact of their products from a life cycle perspective.
What are your expectations on your new role as a project manager?
By transitioning to a role as a project manager, I expect to be able to use my knowledge of LCA in varied fields, to make a broader impact on sustainability initiatives and contribute to a more sustainable future. I’m excited to work with people from various fields, be a part of diverse projects, and find new and creative ways to use LCA.
You have extensive experience in working with LCA and the life cycle perspective. In your opinion, what are the greatest benefits of having a life cycle perspective?
A life cycle perspective has great benefits. It offers a complete view, helping us make better decisions and avoid doing things that are good in one part but bad overall. It’s making sure we see the whole picture to make the best choices.
We warmly welcome Yulia to the Technical Secretariat!
